Our team spent the day with 20 students from lower-income families, in partnership with Children’s Wishing Well, for a hands-on grocery shopping experience.
Rather than simply filling a trolley, we walked the aisles together; talking about healthier choices, comparing prices, spotting value-for-money options, and thinking about how to make the budget stretch further.
We wanted to educate the students that eating well doesn’t always mean spending more. Sometimes, it’s about knowing what to look for, making informed choices, and getting creative with your budget.
We’re glad to have been able to create this experience with the students, and hope they took away a few practical tips they can put into practice on their next grocery run.
