To pledge our support in promoting an inclusive and diverse culture, we sponsor Singapore Indian Orchestra & Choir (SIOC) in building their new home and training ground as they relocate to a new space in Our Tampines Hub (OTH).

SIOC is a performing arts group established by People’s Association since 1985. With 38 years of performing Indian music with its wide range of traditional and contemporary repertoire, SIOC is the one of the world’s largest semi-professional groups to showcase its unique ethnic and culture. With more than three decades of showcasing Indian cultural music, SIOC has participated in various local and overseas performances and competitions, and brought glory to Singapore.

Nunchi Marine is very proud to support SIOC and their talents to shine on stages and showcase the rich culture of one of Singapore’s main races.

The Turning Point is a Christian charity organisation that helps women seeking a place of refuge, particularly lending a helping hand to female drug abuser to overcome drug addiction. With more than 20 years of committed and dedicated care towards women at risk, The Turning Point runs a successful Rehabilitation Programme and has helped several women to move on from their past life of addiction and crime.

In line with Nunchi Marine’s ESG tagline – Stepping Up To Make a Difference, we believe that every human makes mistakes and is deserving of a second chance. With a given opportunity and being conditioned in safe and supportive environment, one has the potential to rebuild a fresh life and reintegrate into the society.

The Turning Point’s meaningful initiative of Fresh Start Home aims to acquire a house equipped with essential necessities, to accommodate ex-offenders and provide them with a stable and supportive living environment during their reintegration process. With the basic requirements of safety, comfort, and accessibility, this will enable them to transition successfully and build a solid foundation for their future.

Nunchi Marine is very happy to be contributing to the Fresh Start Home initiative, and plays a part in building a dignified living space and creating a turning point to make a difference in these women’s lives.

Sponsored under SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Programme, SUSS’ team of Gerontology Professor and students visited National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan in Jul 2023 for an exchange programme and showcase of exercise ball drumming workout.

This exercise ball drumming workout was researched by National Cheng Kung University Professor Linda Li-Chuan Lin, which has shown to promote muscle movement of elderly in a non-intensive way that is appropriate for elderly. The fun and lighthearted drumming workout was then brought over to Singapore by Professor Linda and her students for a showcase at Faithacts Tanglin Halt centre in Aug 2023, and taught to our seniors to encourage them to lead a fun and active lifestyle while drumming to their favourite classical songs.

This fun-loving workout was also showcased at East Coast heartland NDP on 5 Aug 2023, and celebrated by East Coast GRC members – DPM Heng Swee Keat, SMS Tan Kiat Hao and Ms Jessica Tan.

Standing true to the name of the sponsorship programme, it was another meaningful initiative by SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Programme that brought joy to ageing well backed by scientific research data.

Nunchi Marine was proud to be the sole Diamond Sponsor – the highest sponsorship tier of ‘Drive for Dyslexia 2023’ in support of Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS). With the prevalence and increment of Dyslexia cases in Singapore, we hope that our contribution will help concerned parents and the public to better understand Dyslexia condition, and to provide timely assistance to dyslexic children to aid in their learning journey.

Drive for Dyslexia charity dinner that was held on 2 Aug 2023 was an eye opener for Nunchi Marine staff as we witnessed how incredibly talent and expressive these children were.

By doing our part to step up and provide financial assistance, we hope we will make a difference in these special needs children’s lives, increase the awareness of Dyslexia to the public and to promote helping these children to integrate into our inclusive society.

Nunchi Marine signed on as the official Energy, Oil & Gas Sponsor of inaugural Singapore Festival of Football 2023 which hosted popular European Football clubs including Liverpool FC, Leicester City FC, FC Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur. Organised by TEG Sport, this exciting event kicked off from 26 Jul to 2 Aug 2023 at Singapore National Stadium.

Football is a sport that forges teamwork, perseverance and leveraging on every teammate’s strength to score and celebrate each and every goal. The spirit of live team huddle was inspiring as we witnessed the clubs’ focus and motivation with our fellow suppliers, customers, partners and friends in the industry.

Nunchi Marine is honoured to receive the People’s Association Community Spirit Award 2023 – Merit Award on 25 July 2023. The Award recognises organisations who have embraced and made it a priority to give back to the community, in partnership with PA.

Nominated by Mayor of Central Singapore District, Ms Denise Phua, for our contribution for “Better Homes @ Central”, we live up to our cause of Stepping Up To Make a Difference by providing home refurbishment for families with children in rental flats.

We are happy to share that our contribution made a difference in many lives in the Central Singapore District and we hope to continue exhibiting the unwavering community spirit of helping others in need.

Nunchi Marine has partnered with Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) as their official main sponsor from 2023 to 2027.

Dragon Boat Festival 2023 was held at PAssion Wave @ Bedok Reservoir from 24-25 June 2023 and attended by a group of Nunchi Marine staff who witnessed the impressive team spirit and perfect synchronicity. The dragon boat tradition has a significant meaning to the Chinese culture and it is heartwarming to see young generations of diverse cultures showing so much enthusiasm and passion for this sport.

In Nunchi Marine, we strongly believe in teamwork and remembering our roots, hence it is our utmost pleasure to support a traditional sport that forges strong team bonding and camaraderie. With our support to SDBA, we hope to see our Singapore National Dragon Boat Team shine across the globe.

The FaithActs Charity Golf 2023 was a fundraising event to support the development of FaithActs’ 4th new centre @ Margaret Drive. A new centre was built to facilitate and extend their services to Tanglin Halt old-timers, who were moved to Dawson estate under the Selective En-Bloc Redevelopment Scheme.

The relocation highlighted the lack of amenities for and social isolation of elderly folks who spent years building ties in their old community, for example at the centre run by social service agency FaithActs. (Chia & Liew, 2022)

With a new FaithActs centre located near these elderly folks, they would be able to continue spending their elder years meaningfully in a community built for them.

Nunchi Marine was also proud to sponsor the golf t-shirts for this event which brought together 144 golfers and other supporters to contribute to the mission of FaithActs.

In Nunchi Marine, our ESG goes beyond humanitarian work.

We frame our ESG approach towards the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) framework developed by United Nation, which encompasses human well-being, sustainable economies, education and equality, innovation, environmental protection, and animals protection etc.

Community Cats are common sights and found at the heart of many neighbourhoods in Singapore. Currently there are more than 50,000 feral cats living on the streets of Singapore taken care of kind volunteers.

“Moving Meowtains” is a campaign run by Cat Welfare Society in a bid to engage and educate the public on Responsible Cat Ownership and Responsible Cat Caregiving. Taking care of the community cats is a long, tedious and money-consuming process which requires the sustained effort and cooperation from members of the public.

To support animal protection through advocacy and education, Nunchi Marine donated $15,000 to Cat Welfare Society to fund its community engagement programme to help creating a sustainable impact on the community cats lives. Through public awareness on responsible cat ownership and caregiving, we can slowly help to curb the community cats issue from the root.

As part of SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Programme, Nunchi Marine sponsored SUSS’ UniLEARN team, an e-learning initiative to produce 10 short videos to profile innovators in the field of ageing well for 2023.

The UniLEARN platform is focused on making a positive social impact in our community and these videos being part of Age Well Series will greatly enhance the community’s understanding and efforts in the SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Programme.
